Yfirvofandi

Yfirvofandi is a mini album containing music composed for the radio production of the stage play “Yfirvofandi” (“Imminent”) by Icelandic author Sigtryggur Magnason. The play is a poetic venture into dark themes such as death, infanticide and the atom bomb. Originally, the play was performed in the author’s living room to a very limited number of people at a time. When the play was adapted for radio the soundtrack had to act as a sort of substitute for the intimate atmosphere and tension of the original staging. The music is performed by Úlfur along with harpist Marion Herrera and percussionist Halldór Eldjárn. Much of the recordings was made at night in an exotic instrument store in Reykjavík.
